General

Whether it’s a small broken window in a shed or the biggest shopfront known to man, we can take care of it. We are often contracted by other glass companies unable to deal with large shopfronts, a speciality of ours.

Commercial

Shops, offices and factories. From bespoke acid etched glass signage and reception areas to glazed roofs and atriums.  We can offer the complete design and build on any partition requirement you may have, complete with privacy glass or acoustic noise reduction system.  Much of the work carried out commercially has to be done out of hours to minimise risk to personnel and reduce disruption to the business. We are fully conversant with this requirement and carry this out with minimum fuss at very economical rates. We have our own access equipment for quick response in emergencies.

High level glazing

We have recently been appointed by Axa Insurance Company to carry out the replacement of a large double glazed unit on the 14^th floor, the top of Fountain House, Broad Street Mall, Reading. This is after having the job declined by their preferred glazing contractor. This replacement took take place early in February 2005. This is yet again strengthening our position in the market place as the areas premier glazing contractor. We are already the preferred contractors for Green Park, Reading. It is not unusual for a site to have over £1million worth of plant by way of access platforms and cranes to safely replace high level broken glass. 

During the summer of 2004, we were contracted by The Oracle shopping Centre to replace a large double glazed unit to the roof area over the shopping mall. This required internal scaffolding that could not be erected until 10.00pm and had to be struck and cleared away by 10.00 am the following day. All went without hitch.

All of our vehicles/personnel are equipped with full body harnesses as standard kit in anticipation of any eventuality.

Acoustic glazing

We have carried out acoustic glazing for various clients. Most extensively, we fitted over 1000m² on one development on Kensington High Street. our most recent installation was for the press control centre at the new high-tech facility for Newbury News.  These high performance glasses can be used in a variety of applications, from busy office partition systems to domestic situations polluted by our

ever increasing road networks.

Site work

On today’s building sites, things have changed to keep up with the ever increasing demands of Health and Safety at Work. Our experienced glaziers are fully up to speed with the changes in operation procedures. They all wear, as standard, toe protector boots and are supplied with all of the necessary Personal Protective Equipment required to carry out their work safely. We have carried out many large projects that include a £75m project in Kensington and the Rural History Museum in Reading.

Any domestic job is welcomed and to show our appreciation and respect for your home, all of our tradesmen use clean dust sheets and wear over-shoes to protect your carpet. In addition we clean the glass when fitted!!

Fire rated glazing

Our experienced team can quickly identify and quote your specific requirements. This can be for a one-off replacement to the design and build of complete screen solutions.

Ballistic glazing

We have recently been awarded the contract to supply and install, to the new European Standards, bullet proof screens and pay facilities, including payment “dumps” at Ealing Councils new vehicle pound.

We have also installed ballistic glazing at the Royal Berkshire Hospital during its recent refurbishment and building works.

Roof-lights and lanterns

Our team of carpenters have designed, built and installed various types of timber roof-lights and lanterns. We can supply and fit Velux roof-lights from new, dealing with everything from the roofer to the plasterer.

Windows and doors in timber, PVCu and aluminium

Not being tied to any manufacturer in particular, we are able to offer windows and doors in any material or finish. We have over the years monitored various different manufacturers of PVCu extrusions and selected one in particular for our general usage. This is the market leader Kömmerling ((www.kommerling.co.uk) These are of particular interest due to their high performance, especially the high specification Roto locking system. Combined with internal beading and reinforced profiles, this is a formidable product, essential when 70% of our replacement frame work is approved and instructed by the countries leading insurers following break-ins. For ultimate security, we can combine any of our windows and doors with anti-bandit glass or with unbreakable polycarbonate, even in a double glazed format.

Our PVCu products are glazed, as standard, with low emisivity double glazed units which are argon gas filled and exceed the current requirements of Building Regulations Document L.

Many of our contracts, as mentioned previously, are following break-ins. Therefore we have good relationships with manufacturers of aluminium windows and doors which can prove to be more in keeping with the appearance of the house.

We have access to traditional joiners’ workshops from where we can supply and fit anything from a replacement sash to a full box sash window, complete with modern day high performance double glazing and draught proofing.

We are a Fensa registered company ((www.fensa.co.uk) and have a full deposit/installation guarantees provided by the Independent Warranty Association which are underwritten by Lloyd’s of London.
