Allder Group - Glass & Locks

All entrance doors are fitted with high security hook bolt locking as standard and French doors benefit from two handles with keyed alike locking cylinders. In addition, all doors are now fitted with our NEW CYLINDER GUARD SECURITY HANDLE which has built-in protection against snapping or pulling the locking cylinder to gain entry.

Composite Doors

Door technology has advanced massively in the last few years. Since the dawn of time wooden doors have been the norm. With the attraction of "maintenance free" and the advent of double glazing aluminium became quite popular in the late 80's.

Once PVCu, or uPVC as it used to be known, hit the streets it soon over took aluminium as the preferred material. This was mainly down to cost but also people were not enamoured with the appearance of silver anodised aluminium. People were also impressed with the multipoint locking systems (MPLS) being fitted as standard.

However PVCu doors are not top of everyone’s wish list. Aesthetically they are quite chunky as they basically consist of a sash with infill. This can be a disadvantage as it can flex allowing a door to be popped or sprung open. The birth of composite doors has the best of both worlds… maintenance free, traditional and modern designs, similar in appearance to timber but will not warp. Due to the fact they are solid one piece construction they will not flex and combined with high security multi-point locking system.

Secured By Design

Secured by Design is a UK police initiative targeted at using security design innovations to help reduce crime by improving security features. Research shows that Secured by Design can reduce burglary and car crime by 50% and criminal damage by 25%. It supports one of the Governments key planning objectives - the creation of secure, quality places where people wish to live and work.

Secured by Design is a not for profit organisation that tests the security of doors, locks, windows and cars and subjects them to a greater level of attack than general security standard tests. So you can be sure that the products they test are truly more secure than standard security.

The initiative is run by ACPO Crime Prevention Initiatives Limited and is funded through partnership with companies whose products meet technical standards identified by ACPO CPI.

Only the companies who match the high standards tested by ACPO CPI0 are given permission to use the ‘Secured by Design’ logo on the products which have been tested. This logo shows customers that the product has passed enhanced security tests, and to help them better protect their homes, workplaces and cars.

Full Specification

Composite doors come in 7 door colours; red, green, blue, black, white, oak and now also in darkwood.

All composite exterior doors ordered can now have their colour matched internally – truly groundbreaking. Most other composite door manufacturers only offer a white finish to the inside each door.

The solid door colours - red, green, blue, white and black - are pre-pigmented which means the door colour is added during the manufacturing process. As the skins are applied, the colour goes on evenly.

The light oak finish is a hand-applied stained finish to give depth to the woodgrain.
